Sharmin Menzel, LMHC-D
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Sometimes life feels heavier than it should, and asking for support can be one of the bravest steps you take. Sharmin Menzel believes therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have it all figured out.
With more than eight years of experience in outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, Sharmin works alongside adults (18+) who are navigating life's challenges, whether that's anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder, relationship concerns, life transitions, chronic illness, or questions around identity and belonging.
As a first-generation immigrant from South Asia, Sharmin understands the importance of feeling seen, heard, and understood within the context of your culture and lived experiences. She is fluent in Bengali and Hindi and is passionate about providing culturally responsive care where every client feels respected and valued.
Sharmin's approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and rooted in compassion. She believes there isn't a one-size-fits-all path to healing, so she tailors each session to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. Drawing from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care, she helps clients build practical skills while creating space for meaningful growth and healing.
Whether you're working through a difficult season, processing past experiences, or simply looking for someone to walk alongside you, Sharmin is committed to helping you feel supported, empowered, and connected as you move toward the life you want to create.
